The liver is a very important organ in our human body. If there is a problem with the liver, it will easily lead to the occurrence of diseases, and liver cancer is one of them. However, because many people do not know much about liver cancer, it is often not easy to detect, which undoubtedly poses a great threat to health. Therefore, we need to understand liver cancer. Today I will introduce liver cancer to you.
What are the early signs of liver cancer?
1. Hypoglycemia The liver itself has strong compensatory capacity. Only when the liver damage area exceeds 70% to 80% will obvious hypoglycemia occur, manifesting as dizziness, fatigue, sweating and other symptoms.
2. Polycythemia: In patients with long-term cirrhosis or chronic liver disease, polycythemia without other reasons may be an early signal of liver cancer and should be taken seriously. This is because when liver cancer cells divide, they produce a lot of erythropoietin, which leads to excessive red blood cell production. However, while the red blood cells in patients with liver cancer increased, the white blood cells, platelets, and lymphocytes did not increase. Therefore, the greater the number of red blood cells, the more vigorous the division of liver cancer cells. Clinical manifestations include flushed face, bloody constitution, etc.
3. Hyperlipidemia If patients with liver cirrhosis and chronic hepatitis still have hyperlipidemia after excluding high-fat diet, heavy drinking, lack of exercise, and certain endocrine diseases, it is also regarded as a sign of liver cancer. Clinical manifestations include symptoms and signs of hyperlipidemia, such as obesity, atherosclerosis, etc.
What are the treatments for liver cancer?
1. Surgical treatment ① Radical surgery: Surgical treatment is still an effective method for the treatment of early liver cancer. Generally, patients with small and early-stage tumors are suitable for radical surgical resection. However, when patients with irregular locality and cirrhosis undergo radical surgery, normal liver tissue cells should be ensured as much as possible to improve the postoperative success rate.
②Palliative surgery: Although palliative surgery can be used for multiple tumors or larger tumors, as well as liver with portal vein tumor thrombus, it cannot be cured. Palliative surgery or hepatic arterial chemoembolization can also be used. In order to prevent the recurrence of cancer, we should try our best to clear the tumor and tumor thrombus and control the tumor growth as much as possible.
2. Local ablation therapy What are the treatments for primary liver cancer? Treatment of this disease should still focus on effective treatment, emphasizing non-invasive and minimally invasive treatments. Minimally invasive treatments for liver cancer include microwave curing, intratumoral injection, laser hyperthermia, and radiofrequency ablation. However, minimally invasive surgery is generally suitable for tumors with a diameter of less than 5cm, no more than three lesions, or patients with poor physical fitness who cannot withstand surgery and whose lesions are located around the large blood vessels of the liver.
① Patients whose tumor diameter is less than 5cm, have less than 3 lesions, are in poor physical condition and cannot withstand surgery, and have large blood vessels around the lesions, can use absolute ethanol injection. However, the fibers are separated after injection and cannot be completely treated.
②Microwave curing and radiofrequency ablation therapy are suitable for patients with extrahepatic metastasis and no portal vein tumor thrombus. Comprehensive treatment to expand the ablation range can improve the efficacy of liver cancer treatment, and can also be combined with hepatic artery embolization. It should be used with caution in patients with lesions adjacent to the diaphragm, near the gallbladder, and around large blood vessels.
3. Hepatic artery chemoembolization For unresectable tumors, especially lobar liver cancer, and patients with multiple lesions and postoperative recurrence who cannot be surgically resected, hepatic artery chemoembolization can be selected.
The editor has something to say: Through the above introduction, everyone also has a certain understanding of liver cancer. Liver cancer is a constant threat to our health, so once symptoms of liver cancer appear, we must go to the hospital for treatment in time to avoid serious consequences!
