Pseudoparaphimis generally does not require surgical treatment and can be improved through daily cleaning and care. Pseudoparaphimosis usually manifests as the foreskin can naturally turn up to expose the glans when the penis is erect, but when it is weak, the foreskin covers part or all of the glans, which is mainly related to factors such as congenital development and local hygiene habits.
Pseudoparaphimosis is a physiological phenomenon. If it is not complicated by repeated infections or difficulty urinating, non-surgical methods such as washing smegma with warm water and keeping the perineum dry are usually recommended. During daily cleaning, gently turn up the foreskin to remove secretions, avoid using irritating lotions, and wear loose cotton underwear to reduce friction. If there is mild inflammation, you can use erythromycin ointment or mupirocin ointment for topical application as directed by your doctor.
Surgical intervention needs to be considered when pseudoparaphimosis is combined with pathological problems, such as recurrent balanitis, scarring phimosis, or affecting normal urinary function. Circumcision or paraphimoplasty may resolve these problems, but the decision must be made after evaluation by a urologist. Pay attention to wound care and avoid strenuous exercise and sexual intercourse for 1-2 months after surgery.
Forcibly turning up the foreskin to cause incarceration should be avoided on a daily basis. If pre-pubertal children are asymptomatic, they can be temporarily observed. If there is redness, swelling, pain, abnormal urination, or increased secretions, you should seek medical attention promptly to check for fungal or bacterial infection. Maintaining a regular schedule and a balanced diet can help enhance local immunity and reduce the probability of inflammation.
