The core feeling of improved immunity is actually that your whole body has become obviously "resistant". It is not that you will not get sick at all as everyone mistakenly thinks, but that your body's response and repair efficiency to external germs and daily wear and tear has been improved by several levels.
In the past two years, I would always catch the flu when the seasons changed. As long as one person in the office coughed, I would definitely have a sore throat and fever the next day. Each time the illness lasted at least a week, and the cough could even linger for half a month. In the past two years, I have adjusted my schedule and made time for jogging three times a week. A month ago, a colleague sitting across from me suffered from influenza A for three consecutive days. My throat felt a little tight in the afternoon. I drank two large glasses of warm water soaked in lemon when I got home. After a good sleep, nothing happened the next day. Even if I accidentally blow the air conditioner and freeze it, I can clear my nose for half a day at most and get over it.
Nowadays, many people on the Internet say that "avoiding colds all year round means strong immunity." In fact, many doctors hold a different view in clinical practice: catching a cold with mild symptoms 1-2 times a year is equivalent to a "practical exercise" for the immune system, which can stimulate immune cells to remain active. On the contrary, some people who do not even have headaches and fever all year round may not necessarily have really good immunity. It may also be that the immune system is unresponsive. Small injuries and bacterial invasions are not detected in time, and real problems are more likely to come in force.
I have a friend who has suffered from allergic rhinitis for five or six years. In the past, he would not even go out during the pollen season every spring. He would not stop sneezing, and his eyes would be swollen like walnuts. He always kept anti-allergic medicine and nasal spray in his bag. This year, he received three prescriptions from a nutritionist. After many months of eating, and taking ten minutes of sunbathing every day, I only sneezed a few times throughout the spring. The medicine I prepared before was not even opened. When I went for a physical examination, the immunoglobulin G level was much higher than last year. I really improved my immunity.
Speaking of it, the immune system is like the security team in your body. In the past, it was either too sensitive and would go into action at the slightest sign of trouble. It would cause allergies, hives, and unknown inflammation at every turn. Or it was too lazy, and the germs would reach the door of your home and still fish for fish. By the time you reacted, it would have caused a storm in the city. After really improving, this security team has become well-trained. When a little thief comes in, he will be pushed away quietly. He will not give you a fever and headache for several days. Even if he encounters an intruder with some fighting ability, he can quickly gather his troops to win. After the battle, he will call it a day without engaging in a protracted war. He will not let the illness last for ten days and a half months.
It’s not only about dealing with illness, but it can also be seen in the small details of daily life: before, I had to wait for two or three days after staying up late all night, and I felt dizzy and broke out with acne. Now, after staying up late and catching up on a nap, my blood will basically return the next day; before, eating at a roadside stall or drinking a cup of iced milk tea would immediately make me lose weight, but now I occasionally eat a heavy hot pot with iced Coke, and my stomach will not get upset. In fact, there is no need to worry about any specific indicators. The whole person is stretched and comfortable, minor ailments are healed quickly, and there are no inexplicable aches and fatigues. This is the most suitable state of immunity. Don’t pursue the idea that the higher the immunity, the better. If the immune response is too strong, it will easily attack the normal cells of the body and cause autoimmune diseases. A moderate state is the most comfortable.
