The core of women's routine physical examination is general basic items plus special items for women such as gynecology and breast. For women aged 18-60 with no underlying diseases or family history of cancer, it is enough to spend 500 to 600 yuan a year to complete the core items. There is no need to blindly follow the trend and add high-priced items.
Not long ago, my 26-year-old newly married cousin did not use the basic physical examination package issued by the company. She had to add nearly 2,000 gynecological special items, such as HPV genotyping, mycoplasma and chlamydia complete set, and ovarian anti-Mullerian hormone (AMH). The results of the report were not only physiological. She had mild cervicitis and no problems. The doctor who treated her laughed at her for spending money lavishly and said that there was no intercourse bleeding or abnormal leucorrhea. A joint TCT+HPV screening every three years for those under 30 years old is enough. AMH is only needed when preparing for pregnancy or when premature ovarian failure is suspected. Ordinary people do not need to do it every year.
Oh, by the way, the choice of breast examination is actually quite controversial now. Not everyone is suitable for mammography right away: most clinicians think that women under 35 years old have high gland density and insufficient penetration of mammography, making it difficult to find small lesions. A breast B-ultrasound every year is enough. If the B-ultrasound detects more than three types of nodules, it is not too late to do another mammography.; However, some oncology experts believe that if you have a first-degree relative (mother, sister) who has had breast cancer, or has had suspicious nodules detected before, even if you are under 30 years old, you must have regular mammography or even breast magnetic resonance imaging. There is really no unified standard for this. You must explain your situation to the doctor before making a choice, and don't do it yourself.
Many people think that if you don’t have sex, you don’t need to undergo gynecological examinations. This is really a big misunderstanding. When I was volunteering at the physical examination center last year, I met a 21-year-old girl. She had abdominal pain for almost two months for no reason. She always felt that she had nothing to do with gynecological diseases because she didn’t have sex. I refused to do a gynecological B-ultrasound, and finally the consultant persuaded me to do it for a long time. I found out that I had an ovarian cyst that was 5 centimeters in size. If it continued, the pedicle would be torsion and necrotic. Even if I didn’t have sex, abdominal gynecological B-ultrasound and breast B-ultrasound could be done normally without any psychological burden at all.
Oh, by the way, don’t take the three items of thyroid function and thyroid B-ultrasound that are included in the general physical examination seriously. The rate of women suffering from thyroid nodules and Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is now twice as high as that of men. My colleague discovered Hashimoto’s during a routine physical examination the year before last. With early intervention, the indicators are now stable. If the examination is delayed until hair loss or menstrual disorders are checked, it may affect pregnancy preparation.
By the way, if you go for a physical examination, it is best to avoid your menstrual period, otherwise the urine routine will easily detect false positives for red blood cells, and it will be very troublesome to have a re-examination at that time. If it happens to coincide with your menstrual period, it doesn't matter if you postpone it for three or four days.
