Uterine effusion after abortion can be treated through observation and follow-up, drug treatment, physical therapy, traditional Chinese medicine conditioning, and surgical treatment. Uterine effusion may be caused by postoperative poor uterine contraction, infection, cervical adhesions, endocrine disorders, abnormal coagulation function, etc.
1. Observation and follow-up
When the amount of physiological uterine effusion is small and there are no signs of infection, it is recommended to regularly review the ultrasound to monitor changes in the effusion. It is normal to have light red or transparent discharge within 1 week after surgery. It is necessary to keep the perineum clean and avoid strenuous exercise. If the fluid has not been absorbed after 2 weeks or is accompanied by falling pain in the lower abdomen, further examination is required.
2. Drug treatment
For infectious effusions, cefixime dispersible tablets combined with metronidazole tablets can be used as directed by the doctor to fight infection, and motherwort granules can promote uterine contraction. People with abnormal coagulation can take tranexamic acid tablets to improve bleeding. If fever or abdominal pain worsens during medication, timely follow-up consultation is required, and it is prohibited to adjust the medication plan on your own.
3. Physical therapy
Low-frequency pulse electrical stimulation can promote uterine involution through biofeedback, and infrared irradiation can improve pelvic blood circulation. Treatment must be carried out in regular medical institutions, each session lasts 20 minutes, and 10 sessions constitute a course of treatment. It is contraindicated in patients with acute infection or severe cardiovascular disease.
4. Traditional Chinese Medicine conditioning
For patients with qi and blood stagnation, Shaofu Zhuyu Granules can be used, while for spleen deficiency and dampness syndrome, Shenling Baizhu Powder can be used. Moxibustion on Guanyuan, Sanyinjiao and other acupoints once a day, combined with ginger, brown sugar and water to warm the meridians and dispel cold. During the treatment period, avoid eating raw or cold food. Patients with yin deficiency and excessive fire should use warm therapy with caution.
5. Surgical treatment
Fluid accumulation caused by cervical adhesions requires hysteroscopic adhesion separation, and a balloon stent is placed after surgery to prevent re-adhesion. Large hematoma or persistent bleeding may require uterine curettage, and pathological examination should be performed simultaneously during the operation to exclude residual pregnancy products. All operations must be strictly aseptic, and antibiotics should be used prophylactically after surgery.
Bath bathing and sexual intercourse are prohibited within 1 month after surgery. Body temperature should be monitored daily. If fever persists or bleeding exceeds menstrual flow, seek medical attention immediately. The diet should be supplemented with high-quality protein such as fish and eggs, and moderate consumption of hawthorn, brown sugar and other blood-activating ingredients. Maintain a regular schedule, avoid lifting heavy objects, and review the recovery of the endometrium after 6 weeks. Psychological counseling can help relieve anxiety, and professional psychological consultation can be sought if necessary.
