No food can 100% prevent skin allergies, but on the premise that you are not allergic to the food, consuming more foods high in vitamin C, flavonoids, and Omega-3 unsaturated fatty acids can indeed help regulate your immune status and reduce the frequency and severity of skin allergies.
In the spring of the past two years, whenever I touched catkins, my cheeks would become red and itchy. In severe cases, I would develop small rashes in small patches. I always carry anti-allergic ointment in my bag, and I have to go to the dermatologist every now and then to get oral medication. During the follow-up visit at the beginning of last year, the doctor mentioned that you can make more adjustments to your daily diet. As long as you are not allergic, you can eat more fruits with high vitamin C content such as fresh dates and kiwis. You can eat deep-sea fish two or three times a week. You can also eat more broccoli and purple cabbage as vegetables. The nutrients in these ingredients can help stabilize the skin's barrier state and reduce overreactions caused by allergies. I've been taking it for more than half a year. Except for a mild case of pollen all over my arms when I went to the botanical garden last spring, I basically didn't suffer from allergies. I didn't even take out new ointments.
Oh, by the way, many people have recommended drinking local honey to me to prevent pollen allergies. They say that the trace amounts of pollen in the honey can help slowly build tolerance. I have been drinking it for more than three months without feeling any obvious effects. Some friends say that after drinking it for two consecutive years, the reaction to pollen allergies in spring is much lighter. I specifically asked a dermatologist I am familiar with, and they said that there is currently no clear large-scale clinical evidence to support this, and the effect varies from person to person. If you are not allergic to honey or pollen, you can try it, but don’t have too high expectations. If you are allergic to these two types of things, don’t touch it at all.
I have to remind you here, don’t blindly eat the “anti-allergy foods” spread online just to prevent allergies. I once had a colleague who was allergic to mangoes. I heard others said that mangoes are high in vitamin C and are anti-allergenic. I ate half of it. My face was so swollen that day that I could hardly open my eyes. I went to the hospital overnight and got a fever. It was not worth the gain. To put it bluntly, the core of anti-allergy dietary adjustment is to first avoid your specific allergens, and then eat more fresh ingredients that can help stabilize your immunity. This is much more reliable than eating any number of health products that claim to be "anti-allergic."
