Frenuloedema two months after circumcision surgery can be improved by local hot compresses, keeping clean and dry, avoiding friction, taking oral anti-inflammatory drugs, and surgical repair. Frenuloedema may be related to postoperative lymphatic drainage obstruction, local infection, premature movement, suture reaction, scar hyperplasia and other factors.
1. Local hot compress
Soak it in warm water around 40℃, wring it out and apply it to the edema area, 10-20 minutes each time, 2-3 times a day. Hot compress can promote local blood circulation, accelerate lymphatic return, and help reduce edema. Be careful to avoid scalding the skin and wipe dry immediately after applying hot compress. If skin redness or discomfort occurs, stop immediately.
2. Keep clean and dry
Gently clean the wound area with normal saline or medical disinfectant every day, and then blow dry with a hair dryer on the cold wind setting. Wear loose cotton underwear to reduce friction and keep the wound dry while sleeping at night. Avoid using irritating lotions and prohibit bathing or swimming to prevent secondary infection from aggravating edema.
3. Avoid friction
Within two months after surgery, it is forbidden to ride a bicycle, run and other perineal friction sports, and avoid sexual life and masturbation. Use a ring-shaped cushion to reduce pressure when sitting for a long time, and alternate standing and lying activities to promote blood return. If you need to sit for a long time due to work, it is recommended to get up and move for 5 minutes every hour.
4. Oral anti-inflammatory drugs
If there are signs of infection such as redness, swelling, heat and pain, you can take antibiotics such as cefaclor dispersible tablets, amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium tablets, and levofloxacin tablets as directed by your doctor. When combined with allergic reactions, use loratadine tablets for antihistamine treatment. It is forbidden to drink alcohol while taking the medicine. If you have rash or diarrhea, you need to follow up in time.
5. Surgical repair
When edema persists for more than three months and conservative treatment fails, frenoplasty should be considered. Eliminate edema by removing hyperplastic fibrous tissue and reconstructing lymphatic drainage channels, followed by pressure bandaging after surgery. This situation may be related to individual scar constitution or large intraoperative damage, and needs to be implemented after evaluation by a urologist.
During the postoperative recovery period, changes in edema should be observed daily, and the extent and hardness of swelling should be recorded. Pay attention to supplementing the diet with high-quality protein such as fish and chicken breast to promote tissue repair, and limit high-salt foods to reduce water and sodium retention. Levitation exercises can be performed to improve perineal circulation, but strenuous exercise should be avoided. If the edema continues to worsen, suppuration or fever occurs, you must return to the hospital immediately for examination to rule out the risk of deep infection or blood clots. Check regularly within three months after surgery to ensure normal healing progress.
