Can balanitis be washed with alcohol?

If you have balanitis, try not to use alcohol to cleanse it. It may cause damage to the skin. You should go to a regular hospital for relevant examination and treatment.

Balanitis is usually caused by smegma in the foreskin. When bacteria breed, it may cause an inflammatory reaction. Local redness, swelling, pain and itching may occur. It needs to be treated with topical betamethasone cream, clotrimazole cream and other drugs under the guidance of a doctor. If the symptoms are severe, they can be treated with potassium permanganate solution and oral antibiotics under the guidance of a doctor.

During treatment, avoid standing or sitting for long periods of time, and wash with warm water.
